The sales people at Bloomingdale's at 59th Street in Manhattan need training! The 1-800 and 1-866 people receive excellent and 'continuous' training. The sales people, mostly men, seem interested ONLY in closing the deal and getting their commission. The manager of the mattress dept. treated me, a senior woman, like I was a child. They didn't tell me it is absolutely necessary to purchase a 'new' frame with these mattresses. And when, after a month both sides were sagging, they told me it was MY FAULT as I didn't have a new bed frame with 'slats' and that I had LOST my five year warranty! Absurd! The manager of the Manhattan store said he would accommodate me and take care of this. So I went to the store today and met with the mattress manager who told me "there is nothing we can do for you." Between the awful, insulting and uninformed customer service and the sagging $4,000 mattress on a 60% off sale... I am a wreck! I have been given a run around and now it seems in vogue to blame the customer. The customer is the victim but let's blame her. Sooo, my experience with Shifman has been disastrously disappointing. I have tried to reach the manufacturer to no avail. Still waiting to hear from the store manager...will most likely have an attorney handle this for me. So much for the beds of kings and queens!
