King Koil Mattress Set PCFL Q (5)
by Charlie
Around 12/10 we noticed a depression on one side only. It didn't look too bad but was very hard to sleep on because you'd roll toward the middle, forcing you to hold yourself up or else you crowd the other person. You can't sit on the edge without falling back. We called Art Van on 3/11 and they sent a guy out to evaluate it on 4/11. He laid a string across the mattress that had a weight on the end so as to see the sag. You could see it and he "measured" the depth of the impression, not with a ruler but an index card box looking device. I was later told it was a "special" measuring tool. He said the sag was 1/2 inch at the deepest point and asked me to sign a paper to that effect and that the mattress was clean. He stated the foundation was good. I asked him what this meant and he said that a sag had to be 1.5 inches deep to be defective. No one called to follow up as they stated they would. When I called a few days later I was told the matter was closed because it was only 1/2 inch. They are sending out another guy in 2 weeks to re-measure and review. I can only say that any Art Van or King Koil exec would not think this sag was acceptable, especially after paying $1000. I am very disappointed. Do not ever deal with either one of these companies.
